I’m watching season 4 right now (thank you Netflix). I’m enjoying it. I think the actress who plays poor silly Queen Katherine Howard does a great job at being a twit. I love the clothing, the scenery, the sets. Gorgeous. And hey, I know they play fast and loose with the actual history but all for keeping us entertained right?

Goodness they just said a really vulgar word. Yes, I’m literally watching it at this very moment. And enjoying my precious Charles Brandon even with that pretty face covered up with a beard:

Gotta go – Prince Edward has a fever. And Katherine is getting questioned yet again by the king if she’s knocked up yet. The man is obsessed.

So the power went out at midnight Sunday (well Monday) and stayed out till 11 a.m. which is a long time to be without power (i.e. internet). Threw off my entire Monday. Didn’t get much writing done though I did straighten up the house and make a run to Target…

This is the second novella in the Fated series. Don’t have official blurbage yet but I will soon. This comes out from Samhain on December 21st!

Anything else going on? It’s raining here. Lightning storms is what killed our power but no lightning this morning. Just rain. Yay for rain! Feels like fall is finally here.

Still on Hiatus

Here at the blog, yes I am. I wanted to get back into it but it’s just so nutty around here. Plus I had that whole internet issue where it always dropped so I avoided my laptop. What fun is it to get on online and have it drop? Continuously? I got it fixed yesterday, thank goodness.

So yeah, my visits will be sporadic at best. I don’t know – I never get many comments anymore. It’s like no one is hanging around here. I’m tempted to just shut the thing down. But maybe that’s me feeling ambivalent right now.

Monday Monday

I’m tired. How ’bout you? Stayed up late watching awesome fireworks then came home and was still amped up or something. Couldn’t fall asleep till after midnight! Think it had something to do with that nap I took yesterday afternoon? Probably.

Where I grew up you couldn’t light fireworks at home. They were banned from the entire county — because one wrong move and that misfired firework would turn into an epic wildfire. (I just used the word fire three times in one sentence) Up where I live currently, same deal. But down in the city where we watched fireworks last night, there are an endless stream of booths along the roads, hawking their fireworks.

When you think about it, it’s kind of nuts. And dangerous. And so much dang FUN.

I hope you had a fabulous 4th of July. If you’re off today then enjoy it. I need to write. I need to get back on track.

And oh my goodness my children are driving me nuts. We’re only about three weeks in on this summer deal. I hope I can survive it.

Blog Hiatus

Did you notice I just took one? Yeah…I wasn’t feelin’ it. Couldn’t come up with topics. Couldn’t come up with anything but pure laziness.

The laziness is still in effect. Summertime and the livin’ is easy. Kids are home, weather is HOT and well, I’d rather hang out inside or by the pool. Read a little. Haven’t written much. Shame. On. Me.

I vow come July 1st (today!) I will be back on track. Oh, I’m still gonna be a little lazy because the kids are home and it’s hot and…well you get the picture. But I’m blogging regularly again I swear it!

Any good news out there? Anything cool going down? Nothing here. It’s been rather quiet…

National Doughnut Day?

Why have I never heard of this before? We used to have a Krispy Kreme but they grew too big for their britches and expanded too fast and then our local store closed. Which makes me sad because the occasional Krispy Kreme doughnut is good for the soul.

So instead of eating a doughnut I will be dreaming of them like my friend Homer. Mmm…doughtnuts…*drool*

I had an unexpected project land in my lap that has kept me busy the last few days. And I got my haircut. And I have another project I need to work on tomorrow for my son’s kindergarten class. Oh yeah, then I need to make a carrot costume for my son for his kindergarten play this Wednesday. Yes, my kid is a carrot in the play. At least he wasn’t corn…

I turned in my Samhain book that was due today…yesterday. Whew. That felt good. As my reward I watched the Real Housewives of NY last night and was boggled by the crazy. Those women fight nonstop and I am constantly changing my mind each week over which one needs to be on medication. This week for sure the winner is…Kelly.

Obstacles stood in my way to finish this book, I’ll have you know. Quick revisions from my agent (dropped everything to work on those and they are DONE). Field trip on Wednesday with my son’s kindergarten class (I was exhausted). Flat tire because a small wrench had somehow punctured my tire (WTH? I have no clue how that happened). It was like the universe kept trying to throw me off and ruin my writing mojo.

Well guess what universe? I won! I conquered you and still got everything done! Now I’m going to do a little shopping. Yes, shopping! And maybe I’ll get a pedicure too. Oooh yeah I can’t wait!

So I gotta sign off because hey, I have shopping to do!

Allergies

This is me. I am miserable. Oh and I have a book due Friday. I’m close to being finished but I’m gonna have to push it to get it done. And after wasting my Sunday napping and generally feeling awful, I’m feeling a tad stressed.

So I won’t be around for a couple of days. Plus I have a field trip to go on with my youngest on Wednesday. Busy busy! Save me!
