Since Monday marks the beginning of school, this also marks a new schedule in my household. We are getting up early.

Real early.

Like around six. That’s in the a.m. I have to get my daughter to the bus stop by around seven so…yeah. That means early rising. And I’m not really an early riser. Well, I don’t do half bad but over the summer, I got real lazy. Like real real lazy. So it’s hard to get back into the swing of things.

I’m even toying with the idea of waking up even earlier to write. Yes! Like around five! Can I do it? If I go to bed early enough I can. I’m having to go to bed early anyway so why not a little earlier? I’ve decided I’m losing my night writing time so I gotta do a switch.

Can I do it? I don’t know. I just read somewhere (I believe it was Candace Havens who said it, I could be wrong but I’m giving her credit anyway) that if you write first thing after you wake up, your internal editor is shut off.

Well, I bet my internal editor will be flat-out asleep. But that will probably work in my favor.

Any early risers out there? Do you feel your best in the morning or are you a night owl? And tell me, is my plan crazy? From night owl to early bird – can it be done?
