The Real Housewives of Orange County’s season finale is tonight and I’m sad. I’ve really enjoyed this season. Oh, hell, I enjoy every season with them but this one really kept me hooked. Excuse me while I go on a “Why I Love Them” list.
I used to not like Gretchen but now I think she’s one of the sanest of the bunch. Minus her rant on Lynne. And minus the fact that Slade is her boyfriend. Lauri on a past season’s episode said it best: “Slade wants to be one of the housewives.” TOTALLY.
I actually like Lynne and she drove me crazy last season. I don’t think she’s a very strong parent. In fact, she let’s those girls run right over her. But I like how ditzy she is. There’s something about that ditziness I find…endearing.
The new housewife, Alexis. Oh my. Her husband is a piece of work. If my husband talked to me the way hers does, I’d tell him to shove it. But she seems to like it. And he keeps her in designer clothes and expensive diamond jewelry so it works for them.
I could go on and on but don’t want to bore you. Later tonight after the kids are in bed I’m watching it. Whoo hoo! Until next season ladies!

Yes, my children (well my two youngest – sorry oldest child!) get this entire week off. They call it “president’s week.” Whaaat? Have you ever heard of such a thing?
Me either.
So I am free all week of the 6 a.m. alarm. How I hate that alarm, how I hate that time! My children still get up early but by the end of the week they’ll be sleeping in till oh, 7 a.m. And then I’ll have to readjust their schedule and they’ll get grumpy and a blah blah blah.
I just bored myself with that last paragraph. I apologize.
I cleaned like a freak this weekend – as in making my ceiling fan sparkle and polishing the bedroom furniture. You know, the stuff you forget to do until you glance up at your ceiling fan one day in horror because you noticed the thick layer of dust. Oh my word.
I entered a writing contest and got the results back. Immediately wondered why I torture myself with those sorts of things. Never again, I say. Never again!
Going to send off lots of stuff by the end of the month – revisions asked for, rewrites asked for, etc. etc. Stuff very important people have requested so take THAT contest results! See, people DO like my writing. Really they do!
Wow. This post turned into a mini rant. And I never rant about this sort of stuff so my apologies. But I feel really good to have gotten that off my chest so I won’t take it back. There’s no taksie backsies here! I stole that saying from a made for TV crap movie starring Heather Locklear. She screams that (“This ain’t no taksie backsie!” ) at her mean husband in a fake Texas accent. Made of all sorts of awesome.
Do you celebrate the week of presidents? Well you should have today off at least right? When I worked outside of the home I never got president’s day off, let alone president’s week. Ah, the good ol’ days. Not…

Complete randomness…
– First, Tangled is up for Book of the Week at Whipped Cream Reviews. I’m begging for votes – go here to vote for me! Please!
– It was my precious Adam Lambert’s birthday yesterday. Happy Birthday!
– My kids didn’t like those peanut butter/chocolate bars. And by the way, they’re super easy to make. Just make peanut butter cookie dough, spread it out in a greased 13 x 9 pan, bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees (or until edges are golden brown), cool for ten minutes. Take a bag (2 cups) of chocolate chips, melt in microwave (1-2 minutes) and spread on top. Chill for 1 hour. Done.
– I really love the Real Housewives of OC. That new chick’s husband Jim is UNBELIEVABLE. I would tell that macho ass to shove it. And she thinks he is the best thing since sliced bread which is good cos she married the jerk. He makes me wanna go blech blech.
– It’s sunny again today. YAY!
– Is it wrong that I want to watch the new GI Joe movie because he’s in it?
I recorded it off the pay per view but haven’t paid for it yet (Directv let’s you do that, so cool). Seriously the only reason I want to watch it is to watch him in action. Is he shirtless in the movie? Yeah, I have issues.
What are you up to this weekend?

So I had a nice weekend. Both lazy and productive. Watched movies, cleaned house, worked hard on a revision project. Good times.
Until yesterday at approximately 3:45 p.m. when the power went out. After a crazy storm with wind and rain and thunder and lightning. Thunder like I’ve never heard before, one time such a big boom it rattled the house and made my heart leap.
We go through a lot of storms around here and well, we lose our power a lot because we’re in the country. It’s like I knew deep down inside we were going to lose it, I was prepping all weekend for it. And it happened.
Power was out for six hours. Six long and cold hours. No biggie. I should stop complaining right now when I think of all the suffering that is happening in Haiti and well, all over the place you know? I got it made. I am behaving like a big baby.
But yeah. I’m a big baby and I need to whine about it on my blog. Today is the same, weather-wise. Super windy, raining and oooh, another thunder storm is on its way (ugh). It’s supposed to be like this all week!
How’s the weather in your neck of the woods?

How I love her! I’m referring to Tabatha’s Salon Takeover and I love love love that show. She’s awesome! And I always brushed it off because I thought she looked so scary.

She gives really good bitch face. She’s harsh but it’s just what these people seem to need. Well, most of them. A recent episode featured one craaa-zaaay salon owner who clearly didn’t want her help. So why did she call her? I don’t get it.
I just went on a DVR blitz with this show so I could catch up. And of course, it’s probably really close to being over. Oh well. And I’ve been enjoying my Real Housewives of Orange County too. I’ve been a die hard fan of that particular group since season one!
Don’t judge me!

I am behind the times. I finally got to see Star Trek this weekend after purchasing the DVD Wednesday at Target. I stood there in the aisle, contemplating the purchase and eventually I told myself just do it and threw it in the cart.
I definitely don’t regret buying it.

What a GREAT movie. OMG. Action packed and funny and sexy and violent and emotional, I loved it ALL. After it was done my husband asked, “What did you think?” because he already saw it because he sucks and went and watched it with his friends while me and the kids were out of town at grandma’s house and yes I still have issues over that okay because I could just tell that movie would be awesome on the big screen and…
Whew. Let me catch my breath.
Anyway, so yeah I loved every freaking minute of it, is what I told him when he asked. I’m ready for the second one. Have they started filming? No? Drat. Guess I’ll just wear out my DVD player and watch it again and again and again.
I can’t remember the last time I felt this satisfied after watching a movie. No joke. It was wonderful. Chris Pine is fine (I just like saying that), Zachary Quinto was a most awesome Spock and I even loved that little alien friend of Scotty’s.
I’m raving like a lunatic. I’ll shut up now. Did you like Star Trek? And don’t tell me if you didn’t, I don’t want you to burst my bubble.
