Is it silly of me to get all geeked out and giddy over the sight of red Starbucks cups clutched in shoppers’ hands at the mall on an early Saturday morning? Because I did.
Yes I was at the mall, actually shopping. Sephora was having a special sale! I had to hit that up. I got a couple of things that YOU will all benefit from too. Yes little prizes for a blog contest. Watch for those coming soon!
I went with my two youngest. Oldest was at a band competition. I’m reminded yet again why I don’t take them to the mall. They drag. They whine. They want to eat Chinese in the food court and once they get their food, they realize they don’t want it anymore (my daughter).
They make their Mama nuts.
It’s raining so hard right now. Hope I don’t lose power - I do live in the country ya know…

Oh my God it’s Christmas music. CHRISTMAS MUSIC. I’m taking my kids to school, I turn on the station that does a newscast on the hour and “Joy to the World” blasts out at me. Quickly followed by “Frosty the Snowman.” My daughter wouldn’t let me change it. I finally switched after the news.
I love Christmas music. It puts me in the holiday mood. But not during the first week of November! I mean COME ON. This is ridiculous. Talk about sucking the spirit right out of me.
It’s still fall. Thanksgiving isn’t here yet, let’s not forget about that holiday! Oh wait, we don’t really buy or give anything for that holiday so it doesn’t count. At least, that’s how they treat it. Sucks man.
So I’m posting this pretty little FALL photo as a form of protest! No Christmas yet! Please! Let’s enjoy this time of year instead of shoving Christmas down my throat. I don’t want to become a hater…

Is my friend. She was one of my first writing friends. I met her on the last day of the RWA conference in Reno back in 05. We decided to be critique partners. I read a couple of chapters for her that ended up placing in a HQ Blaze contest. I eventually critiqued the whole dang book…and then another book. And that book evolved quite a bit, many changes that I never saw. Now…
Here’s the book. And it’ll be available in stores this upcoming Monday! If you can’t wait you can go ahead and purchase the book over at eHarlequin. That’s what I did. Gotta show support for my girl…
Plus! Tracy is leading the most awesome workshop over at the eHarlequin forum. “Know The Market, Know Thyself” has come at a good time for me. This week I’ve been a little anxious. I read my stuff and wonder, “Is this good enough? Really good enough?” Her workshop is touching on some points that I haven’t thought about before.
And you don’t have to be interested in writing “just category” to get something from Tracy’s workshop. Go check it out, it’s worth it!

Better late than never right? I meant to post these yesterday but…but…well I got distracted with writing! I wrote like a fiend! Like a whirlwind! Like a crazy woman! Then I went to bed, set the clock back and woke up “early” but felt refreshed! Woot! If I continue to write like this, I’m gonna finish today. And then it’s time to edit and revise…
So here are the kids. What do you think? They had a great time. And I love Halloween but I gotta say, I’m glad it’s over!
You can’t see her tights because of her broom but they’re orange and black striped. So cute!

Yum, yum I make these with the kids every year. And this year Grandma was with us! Hurray!
We get very creative, my daughter was waaay into it.
My youngest, not so much. Unless he was eating them.
Grandma was having fun too. She made some extra cool cookies.
And we made an extra cool mess.
But it was worth it.
Mmm, mmm good!
