As in it was rather warm yesterday – and the kids went swimming! Even the oldest one! Though that water was so damn cold…we gave the dog a bath in the pool! We couldn’t get him any other way. He didn’t like it – oh well. Now at least he smells nice and looks pretty.
But it’s supposed to rain tomorrow. The weather is so wacky this time of year. Three days of 80+ degrees, then rain comes in and cools everything down. I’m not complaining though. Summer will be here soon enough. Wah…
It’s going to be a busy week. I have a lot of projects to work on. Like starting the next Playing with Fire book. Oooh yeah! I’ve got a few things up my sleeve.

After being given a sneak peek of gorgeous spring weather, it’s raining again. I shouldn’t protest. Rain is good. We’ve received a lot of it this winter and we need every drop we can get.
But it can make my dirt road hard to drive sometimes. Especially when tractors have driven over it to “fluff” it up.
So yeah I’m coming back from taking the kids to the bus stop and I lost control of my truck. As in I fishtailed one way, then another, then another, before I went sliding into the embankment. Screaming the entire time I went sliding (I’m such a drama queen!). I immediately switched it into 4×4 and tried to back up. No go. Dirt flying from my spinning whee, I knew if I kept that up I’d get myself nice and stuck.
I put it in drive and drove forward. Worked like a charm. Crept home nice and slow the entire way because dude! I almost wet my pants over that!
At least I wasn’t in my car.

I’ve been in a writing frenzy cloud these past three days, writing off via Yahoo IM with my friends Red and Shelli. We have books to write and little time to do it! Challenging yourself in timed runs is just the best – I highly recommend it.
My mom is coming today and my oldest son’s birthday is this Friday. Then he has a state band competition on Saturday. Needless to say, I’m going to be busy the next few days.
So I’ll leave you with my favorite new commercial. The Amazon Kindle commercials are great. Not only are they cool but I love seeing them because I can’t help but think, “Yesss, go buy an ereader and then read my books.” It’s just great publicity for those of us who are mostly e-published. The world is becoming more aware, yes indeed!

That’s how I feel. I’m in limbo, waiting for responses on certain things, various projects, etc etc. It’s making me batty, I must admit. Completely batty. So what does a girl do when she’s feeling low and sick of checking her empty inbox?
She goes shopping.
I went to Ann Taylor Loft. If I was rich I would own that entire store. All of it! But I’m not rich. I’m broke and I’m looking for things on sale and I had an extra 20% off coupon in my purse so I was ready. I wanted something fun and pretty and springy! I’m ready to shed the sweaters and put on something pastel colored!
I found a bunch of stuff to try on. I was going for it, just piling the clothes on my arm. The employee who helped me had a big wide eyes that flashed dollar signs and whispered cha-ching! every time she took the stuff and put it in a dressing room for me. Hey, I know they don’t make commission but I worked retail for years. You gotta keep those numbers up to look good to your manager, regional manager, corporate office a blah blah blah.
I get in the dressing room and I try on the first shirt which was this. Oooh, I thought. Pretty color. Subtle glitter. And on sale! I want it! Damn I look good. Better than normal! What’s up with that?
Next shirt – meh but boy my hair looks nice. Another shirt (I realized all I tried on were shirts and sweaters – so typical of me. I always buy shirts and neglect pants! Not good), it’s okay but wow my coloring is just peachy! My eyes sparkle, my skin looks good, what is going ON?
Any Seinfeld fans here? Remember when Elaine kept going to a department store and hanging out in the dressing room because she looked so good in the mirror (either Bergdorf’s or Bloomingdales, I think)? Damn it I tried to find a clip on YouTube but came up empty handed. Anywho, that is the dressing room at Ann Taylor Loft! The lighting, the trick (maybe?) mirror, whatever it was I don’t know but I looked damn good! And I’m not one to brag. I’m usually in sweat pants and a t-shirt. I am not a glamorous babe who walks around talking about how hot I am. Trust. Me.
Have you ever had this happen? When I got home I checked myself in the mirror. I looked all right. Nothing special. No peachy complexion, no sparkling eyes, no perfect hair. In fact, there was mascara under my eye and my hair was kind of flyaway. Yeah. I need that mirror – hell that entire dressing room – in my house pronto!

My office-slash-guest bedroom has steadily gathered more and more stuff over the years. As of last Friday it was filled with one queen sized bed, one bookcase, two large file cabinets and three desks. Yes, the room is large but oh my was it crowded!
Since my husband has started a new job and will be working from home more often he needed his own desk/office. We told each other we didn’t want to work sitting right next to each other (ah can you feel the love?!) so we moved out the GIANT desk that has sat in that room since we moved into the house. It now resides in our bedroom, my husband’s new office.
Yeah, I wanted to go to bed last night and he was sitting at his desk cleaning up, organizing, etc. I think he needs to keep earlier hours don’t you?
Anywho my office is now rather spacious! I’m loving it! Have I taken pictures yet? No. Do you want to hit me? Probably.
In writing news, I have a few new covers I’ll be able to share soon! Man I love cover art. Almost as much as I love contracts. Ha!

As in I’ve been a terrible blogger yet again. Life has just been a tad crazy around here right now. Writing-wise I kicked butt on Monday only to have all of those words disappear come Tuesday morning. Just *poof* and they were gone. Now it’s slow going gaining them back…
The weather is weird (as in bitterly cold) and the power went out last night – for six hours! The gods were planning against me to not write, I swear.
So for the next few days I’m going to write like the wind. I hope. Wish me luck!
