500th Post Giveaway!

12:05 am • Filed under: contest

Yay it’s my 500th post! Par-tay time!

I would’ve posted sooner but well, after returning from our trip (will share pix soon), I had lots of laundry to do, lots of writing to do and lots of cleaning to do. My parents are coming on Tuesday and we’re having non-stop Halloween celebrations during the latter part of the week. Busy busy.

But not too busy to have a contest! You know, I’ve written a Halloween-themed book a time or two (actually three) and since Halloween is my favorite holiday (followed closely by Christmas), well I’m gonna give away a copy of one for the next three days to one lucky commenter!

First up today, my first Halloween book Haunted Dreams:

Leave a comment today and you’ll be entered to win one downloadable copy of Haunted Dreams. I’m going to give away an ebook today (three total which means three winners!) through Wednesday and I won’t draw/announce the winners until Thursday so you’ll have the next three days to leave comments at each post (one comment per day though please to keep it fair).

So tell me what you love most about this time of year. There are so many things I love but I want to hear your favorites…

This Is Where I’m At

1:00 am • Filed under: Home Life

We’re camping (in a luxury motorhome thanks to my husband’s job), we’re relaxing, we’re eating junk food. Life is good. I’ll be back soon, I swear.

This is the General Grant tree at Kings Canyon National Park. When I come back I will have my own photos of this big ol’ bad boy. Trust me, he’s a BIG deal.

And speaking of big deals…I’m going to be writing my 500th post for this blog soon. Like real soon. And I’m celebrating. I’m also celebrating because Halloween is coming and Halloween is my favorite holiday. So watch for a contest announcement this weekend. It’s gonna be a good one!

Save The Contemporary

12:01 am • Filed under: Books I Love

I love contemporary romance books - it is definitely my most favorite genre to read (and write!). So when I hear the rumors that contemporary books are on a major decline, no one is buying them (readers and editors/publishers/agents), well that makes me sad.

Thanks to Dear Author and Smart Bitches, they’re out to save the contemporary romance genre by sponsoring a contest! They’re spreading the word about the latest contemporary book by Erin McCarthy, Flat Out Sexy.

Isn’t that cover flat out sex-ay? Ooh yeah - gotta get it! So help spread the contemporary love and enter the contest!

Fortune’s Promise

1:00 am • Filed under: New book fun!, Writing

Is coming January 20, 2009 to Samhain Publishing (and I’m on the coming soon page too!).

Check out my new cover:

Isn’t it hot? Wanna read a blurb?

One amazing night. A waste of time? Or a new beginning?

A Fortune Story

After winning the lottery a year ago with her two best friends, Maddie Carpenter’s life should have changed for the better. Right? Wrong. She’s still stuck in her boring old life while her friends are living theirs to the fullest.

Watching one of them get married brings all her self doubt into sharp focus. She resolves to do something exciting, something thrilling. Starting right now, with the singer performing at the reception.

Tanner is still bitter over his divorce, bitter toward women in general. But something about sweet and sexy Maddie turns Tanner inside out—and he can’t resist her.

One amazing night of sex turns into many nights of more amazing sex. Soon their relationship is moving way out of the casual zone. But both carry excess baggage of suspicion and distrust that could cost them everything…

Pumpkin Spice Latte Keeps on Giving…

1:00 am • Filed under: Random

So I blogged about the PSL here and let me tell you, ever since I did, I get enormous hits from it on my little ol’ blog. So thanks for visiting, all of you pumpkin spice latte lovers! Isn’t it the most magical drink ever created? I certainly think so…

Isn’t it just beautiful? Yes indeed. Now see I have an espresso machine (thanks Mom & Dad!) and since it’s been cold in the morning, I’ve been making white chocolate mochas for me and the husband. But I want to duplicate my PSL love at home.

Starbucks doesn’t sell the syrup (curse you Starbucks! I’ve seen it for up to $50 on ebay! Curse you! I have the Gingerbread syrup, why no Pumpkin Spice love for the public?) so I’m going to have to resort to another brand:

I’m going shopping today. I will be on the hunt for this stuff. Yum. I hope it’s good. I hope I can duplicate the delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte yummy-ness.

(And yes I tagged this post as a “crushes” post. I can have a crush on drinks right? I think so.)
