It’s that time of year where you think of all the things you’re thankful for. Too much time is spent being negative (I am guilty – we are all guilty I’m sure) and I want to do something positive for my blog and book readers. I want to be more positive in my life.
Did you also happen to know I have a book coming out soon? Like less than two weeks? Oh yes, I’ll confess it’s a naughty one. But such a fun naughty one too!
So in celebration of being thankful, being positive and new release happiness, I’m giving away a few gifts.

I own this beautiful necklace. It’s the Nie Nie necklace. Do you know Nie? Oh goodness, she is such an inspiration! If anyone should be negative by what life has thrown at her, it’s Stephanie Nielson. But she’s not. She’s positive and more than that she’s alive after suffering terrible burns from a plane crash.
The necklace was made by Crystal B. Go on, check out her Etsy shop. Beautiful jewelry. I want it all! I’m giving away this particular necklace to one of you, my dear readers. A beautiful little necklace with a lovely sentiment that we should remember. Things really are all well, aren’t they?
Yes, they are. So the contest starts today and runs through November 17th — the day Forbidden releases. Leave a comment here and let me know what you’re thankful for. Your family? Your job? Your cat? A good read? Lemme know!
One comment per person please.
I’m going to have a few more contests during November so watch for them! Yay!

Even though I don’t act like it i’m truly grateful for my mom, dad, and three brothers. I’d be cold and uptight if it weren’t for their comedy relief and support, I also wouldn’t be as happily nutty as I am today!
Fedora says:

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. Our family tradition, before eating the meal, is to stand around the table and hold hands while my Dad says a quick prayer. Then everyone gets a chance to say one thing that they are thankful for, and 100% of the time it’s always something about family.
I am thankful that my parents are still healthly and active, that my son’s are now working and are happy with their career choices, and that my dh is enjoying his first year of retirement.

I am thankful for my family and for all of our troops overseas protecting our country.

This is an easy question! Every time someone asks what I’m thankful for, I tell them it’s for my grandson. Harley was born 4 months early and spent the first 4-1/2 months of his life in the hospital. He weighed less than 2 pounds at birth and was only 12 inches long. It was touch and go for quite a while and we never knew from one day to another whether he would survive. Today, he’s a VERY rambunctious 6 year old and an absolute joy in my life.
Tamara B. says:
I am thankful for the health of my family, thankful though we even survived loosing our home to foreclosure one that my children who are now 13 & 14 grew up in to have another home we now rent but we have shelter.
Kimberly B. says:
What a losing necklace! I am most thankful for my family who is always there to support me and I am especially thankful that my father recovered from his heart attack a few years back and is doing well.
patsy hagen says:
The list of what I am thankful for is so long, I could never type it out. For just a few…I am thankful to be living with my son and his family. I’m thankful for our health. I’m thankful for the food we can buy and thankful that we can pay our bills(there are too many who can’t).

I remember reading about Nie and the airplane accident. How excited you must be about the upcoming book release! I wish you much success with it. First, I am thankful to be alive in this wonderful country of ours. Even if the economy and our country isn’t in the best of shape right now, it is still the best country in the world to me! My dad is 91 and a veteran of WWII. I am very proud of him and all service men and women. Freedom is not free and I am ever so thankful for it. Blessings, Cindi
Debby says:

Joelle says:
I’m thankful that my brother was not among the soldiers injured/killed in the attack at Fort Hood in Texas. (Thoughts and prayers sent to those families.) Bill, was stationed at Ft. Hood for 3 years. He was at home when the attack happened.
I have family members and close friends who proudly serve(d) in each branch of the Armed Forces. I am thankful for all their service and sacrifices they have made (or are making) so that we Americans can live safe and free.
God Bless and Keep our American Troops safe!
Kimberley C says:

Hi Karen !
A BIG congratulations on your new release, Forbidden…how exciting!
As a 1 1/2 breast cancer survivor, I’ve come to be thankful for not only the bigger things in life…such as life itself and my wonderful family, etc. but the smaller things too…like hair, eye-lashes, eye-brows…and good books, LOL.
Just SO many things, big and small to be thankful for, like the lovely necklace you’re giving away : )
Thank you and here’s wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving!
