I am taking a cue from Melissa over at The Inspired Room. She’s setting twelve key word goals for every month in 2009. It’s a simple yet powerful and transforming goal and since this year just happens to be the last year of my thirties (sob – I turn 39 in approximately 30 days!), I decided I wanted to make the most of ’09.
Now Melissa has already listed a word goal for each month but I haven’t thought that far ahead yet. So I’m going to name my word at the beginning of each month throughout the year. So for January, my goal word is efficient.
Fitting no? First month of the year is almost always about cleaning up, clearing out, making resolutions or goals, promising to be organized (I do that EVERY SINGLE YEAR). I vow to be more efficient. Handle things as soon as they come my way. Get those lingering chores, etc. done in January so my slate is relatively cleared come February.
I have a lot to do this month – there’s a synopsis (or three) to be written, promo to be done for my new book coming out, a book to be finished, edits are coming my way. I’d like a lot of that cleared out before my (and my daughter’s) birthday month rolls around. Because I have big plans for the daughter’s sixth birthday. Big. Plans.
So who’s with me? If you were to sum up your goal for this month in one word, what would it be?

Hmm. I’d have to go with Commitment. To writing, to eating right and working out, to being better organized.

This is a great idea! Mine word will be ‘Condidence’. I’m going to be confident with my writing, the opposite sex, my health, etc. LOL.

Commitment and confidence – both good words for the month.

My word would have to be ‘balance’. I’m looking for it in all areas of my life- personal, career, etc.
