I don’t like to make resolutions because I believe they set me up to fail. But there’s nothing wrong with having goals and this year, there are a few things I’d like to accomplish. So without further ado, here we go.
– Finish the current ST I’m working on and submit it to agents. Eventually find one. There. I put it out in the universe. I will get an agent in 2009 (The Secret in action!).
– Finish Sin City Shifters series for Ellora’s Cave (turned in second novella a couple of days ago – have at least one more to write, maybe two).
– Take more photos. This past summer and into the fall I was on a roll. Then I stuttered to a stop. I suck! So I vow to take more. More damn it!
– Become more creative. I dipped into my creative well this past year and was happy to have another outlet besides writing. I want to do more. Nothing too crazy but I find it quite rewarding to create something with my hands.
2008 has ended on a tough note for us. The economy has hurt my household directly and things are a little grim. I vow to be positive and believe that things will turn around for the better. Life is good – we have many blessings and things to be thankful for so I must remember to focus on them and not the negative stuff.
Have any resolutions or goals? Ready to conquer 2009 with me? Let’s do it!

Kelley Nyrae says:
Ugh! The economy. It’s killing us. Here’s to hoping you have a great 2009! You’ll get those goal accomplished, Karen!
Amy Ruttan says:
Yep the economy is doing a number on us as well. You’ll get the goals done, I know it.
Happy New Year.
Isabelle Santiago says:
I agree. Resolutions come with a lot of pressure and disappointment if they aren’t fulfilled, but EVERYONE needs goals! So good for you for creating great ones. I’ll send out positive mojo/vibes for your agent search!
The economy is certainly affecting the lot of us. Here’s hoping ’09 will bring better things.
