I loved Amanda Ashley's Embrace the Night because of the historical elements and it was a love story. I read some others by her, but didn't enjoy them nearly as much. I agree with Wylie, the Black Dagger Brotherhood series is great! Well, at least the one that I read was...and that one was Dark Lover. I never found the others to read them. I totally forgot to recommend a vampire novel!
