My heroine:
I am not always a visual writer. Meaning that I don’t always need photos to get the creative juices flowing. Most of the time I conjure up my characters in my head, don’t use photos of various famous people for inspiration.
But as I was sitting in the Dallas/Fort Worth airport coming back from RT flipping through a magazine I saw her and thought, she looks just like my new heroine.
Now my heroine is silly, foolish. She’s been burned many a time, the most recent by her ex-fiance who dumped her a mere five days before the wedding. Jerk off. So she’s a little gunshy, a little afraid to throw her heart back out there.
Once she meets the hero though she’s not afraid to ask for a little sexin’. No, more than anything he inspires her to become bolder, a little naughty. And she likes it, she likes the new person she’s become.
She wore something similar from above to seduce him. Guess what? It worked! (No surprise)
But she’s lying to him and that makes her feel bad. And he has a way of working himself inside of her heart and she really really doesn’t want that. Or so she tells herself.
I’m not even going to bother putting up a pic of the hero. If you can’t figure out who he is then I guess I need to club you over the head with him.
If you’re a writer, do you like using visuals, photos for inspiration? As a reader do you like hearing who inspired an author? Or would you rather make those characters up in your head?

Kristen says:
Isn’t that the chick from That 70’s Show? She’s hot.
I use pics, but not religiously. Sometimes I’ll see something that clicks, sometimes not.
Karen says:
It is her - Mila Kunis. She’s also the voice of Meg on Family Guy. Not that I watch that trash. Heh heh heh…
Shelli Stevens says:
Oooh she’s hot! This goes back to that if batted for the other team conversation.
Karen says:
I agree Shell. She might appear on that list. LMAO. We’re bad.
Amy Ruttan says:
I like visuals. I don’t always need them, but I it’s great when I find a visual to represent my character.
I’m still in shock that is Mila Kunis from That 70’s Show.
Surreal.
Wylie says:
That’s little Mila (well, she was only 16 on T70S) Wow — girl growed up hawt!!
I sometimes use visuals, but find it harder to do with my heroine than my hero.
Go figure….
Willow says:
As a reader, I just LOVE hearing who/what/where inspires authors. It adds another dimension to the story in my head! As a writer, well, I’m a chicken writer — not that I write about chickens — I’m just chicken to share anything I write!
Emma Petersen says:

<—Is this him? *snickers*
Hehe! I know who he is.

I’d rather make the characters up in my mind. This is why I don’t like books made into movies sometimes because the movie often doesn’t do the characters justice.
How’s Shia doing?
