Mad Shopping

11:00 am • Filed under: Uncategorized

So I took my oldest son out shopping Saturday for his birthday. Actually his birthday is today but you know, he’s in school in all…

Anywho, he wanted a digital camera. He’s always hogging ours and driving us crazy so his grandmas gave him money and we gave him money - and he got a super cool camera.

It’s so super cool now I want it! It’s tiny, it’s a Sony, and it’s 7.1 megapixels. It takes the best pictures! He’s really been into photography lately so he went outside all weekend and took tons of photos. They turned out great. Mom is green with jealousy - she wants that camera.

Cos he’s nice we also went to Pottery Barn, where I could’ve bought out the entire store for my house. They had so much beautiful stuff! I love to shop, it’s an addiction, I know it and I get caught up in the frenzy. My brain starts overloading as I think, “I want that, that, that, THAT!” It’s ridiculous.

So tell me - you like shopping or no? Live for it, love it or find it a complete pain in the butt?

The only thing more dangerous than going to the mall (or any shopping establishment) alone IS GOING WITH YOU! Because, honey, I LOVE to shop, LIVE for shopping.

I even get excited about grocery shopping. Target… THE MALL? Don’t get me started. Just 2 weeks ago, I went to the mall alone. Shopped SO MUCH that fraud protection called me for unlawful charges. LOL I was like, I’m wearing my new shorts right now and they are so cute. I wish someone else had spent all this money, but sadly, it was me

Yesterday, I drove thru Fig Garden and saw the Pottery Barn. And the Williams Sonoma… and the Coach store. I just kept on driving. It was like Thelma and Louise for me!! LOL

I like to shop every now and again. I’m not a huge shopper.

  3. Emma Sinclair says:

    I love shopping!

The good thing however, is I love bargain shopping even more! That somehow protects the credit card a little bit (or I just get a whole lot more).

I like any kind of shopping except clothes shopping. I get SO indecisive and spend forever trying on a million things in frustration… then picking the first thing I started with.

Oooh shopping? When do we leave?

  6. Melissa Marsh says:

I like to shop, but I definitely have to be in the mood. Since I’ve lost weight, I LOVE to clothes shop! I’ve found that I really don’t like to get too many things for the house - I’ve finally got it the way I want it and I don’t need anything more at this point.

So cool that your son is into photography!

I LOVE To spend money but I hate to shop–so clothes are out, Pottery Barn, Pier 1, the book store, Lowes–yes LOWES, Old Navy, hell even the athletic store–all in. Anywhere i don’t have to think any harder than sliding the old plastic across the counter.

I have to be in the mood to shop, but when I am watch out! Right now, we’re saving every spare penney so I HATE walking into any store.

  9. Cole says:

What a cool present to give! I love that idea! Will have to keep that in mind for the kids as they get older.

And shopping? I’m one of those rare ones I guess, I can’t stand it — do it because I have too — an hour at tops… then get me the … well you know what, out of there!

LOL When I read “Mad Shopping” I thought you were doing what I do… Get upset then go shopping. It’s probably not the healthiest way of coping. But if it works don’t knock it, right? :o)

Love online shopping! Yes, yes. . . the wander around the store shopping, not so much. It just takes too darn long. . .

Funny and true story. . . we were shopping at Target a few weeks back and had to find sandals for my boys. Try on, they wanted this and that, try more on. . .anyway, I wasn’t watching my basket. We were in shoes for soooooo loooong that they RESTOCKED my basket! I about went LOONEY in the store. So yeah, all we came out with was sandals and one fuming hot mama!

  12. Jill Monroe says:

I hate shopping. Always have, much to my mother’s sadness. I’m happy to say I’ve provided her a grandchild who likes to shop as much as she.

  13. Isabella Snow says:

    Happy bday to your boy!

Love shopping, hate crowds = love online shopping.

  14. Kristen Painter says:

Do I like shopping? Cut me and I bleed shopping. I breathe it, eat it, dream about it…

Yes, I like shopping. If it were an Olympic sport, I’d be the undefeated gold medalist. Swear.

  15. Kat says:

    I go through phases.

Most of the time, if I feel like shopping, I can never find anything I want.

All the other times (or those when I have no money) is when I really find the ‘can’t live withouts’. Drives me batty.

    Grrr.

GREAT Cover (regarding the post below)!

  16. Julie S says:

Well, I think it’s pretty well established how I feel about shopping :-) I’m borderline compulsive. Especially with it comes to shoes.

  17. Lori Borrill says:

Yes, I love shopping, but I don’t do it often. Between the day job and trying to crank out books…oh, and little league. Always little league.

But when I do get the chance, I could wander all day and buy all kinds of stuff I don’t need. That’s the point, right?
