I’m Back

1:46 pm • Filed under: Uncategorized

The kids and I went to my parents’ house this past weekend (hubby is away on business) and we drove back yesterday. Man those trips are just too fast. I wish my parents lived closer so my kids could see them more. And the weather was wonderful but today it’s cloudy and raining off and on. Weird!

I have nothing much to say. How boring am I? I’ve been reading The Secret which has been interesting. I don’t necessarily believe everything it says but there’s nothing wrong with a little positive thinking. It gives you a better outlook on life and helps you to believe in yourself better.

Of course according to The Secret, all you have to do is think about something (wanting it, etc.) and it’ll happen. I don’t believe that - you have to take ACTION in order to get what you want. You can’t just sit around and wait for something to happen to you.

So yeah I’ve been on a positive thinking kick. And I should be on a “clean the house” kick but that doesn’t sound like much fun…

Okay I’ve rambled on enough. Come back on Thursday for another Thursday Thirteen list. They’re fun! You should do one too.

Glad you had a good time at your parents’ house! How far is it?

Oh, I heard a bit about this on Oprah. So it’s just about positive thinking, huh?

Lol, I pushed myself into a ‘clean the house’ kick last week and got a bunch of very overdue stuff cleaned up.

Housework sucks, and it’s neverending too…

    Have a great day!

    Hey Karen! Welcome back!

There was a funny sketch on Saturday Night Live about The Secret.

Welcome back and glad you had a good time!

  5. Loribelle Hunt says:

Welcome back Karen! Glad you had a good trip!

I agree with positive thinking up to a point. You *have* to send those manuscripts off with good thoughts of publication. . . but, you had to put in the work to write it, edit it, and then edit it again. You won’t win if you don’t try — etc., etc.

I may have to check The Secret out of the library to see what all the hype is about.

Hey, I had a “clean the house” kick last week. Can’t tell it now, though. :P

Welcome back and I’m glad you had a good time. Those weekends aways go too fast, don’t they?

  9. Anna J. Evans says:

Yeah, the hubby and I cleaned like maniacs last Friday and now the house is already a sty again. I’m blaming the kids, lol. I swear, the kitchen floor looks like I slop pigs in here not feed children. I don’t think I”ll ever make tacos again. I spent half the morning picking up nasty beef and cheese bits…ew…

Anna (glad you had a good trip!)

I’ve had my eye on The Secret. Keep us updated.

Glad you had a nice trip.

WB! Glad to hear your trip went well

Actually if you watch the Oprah, and Oprah After The Show, and watch The Secret video, and hear the people actually talk in free form, you’ll notice they really are talking about taking positive “action” to reach their goals. It’s just hard to open yourself up to positive action if you shoot everything down with negative thought at the gate, ya know?

Yeah, hubby mentioned “The Secret” at his morning meeting Friday. Show of hands who knew the secret… I was the only one and he laughed and said you told him I would know about it. LOL

    Luv ya!

    Mars

You are so right about the positive thinking, but taking action to make it happen!

Glad you’re back. We missed you!

  14. Lillian Feisty says:

I’ve spent the entire day hoping chocolate cake would appear on my counter.

It hasn’t. However, I did find some really old ice-cream in the freezer, so maybe all that Positive Thinking helped!

My mom lives here in the same city I do, but my dad is still back home - 450 miles away. In fact, most of my family is there, so I have to take time off to go see them. A weekened just isn’t long enough.
