Oh the Madness

11:21 am • Filed under: Uncategorized

So we had Daylight Savings Time start here on the worst possible day. My husband had to fly out for business, and had to leave the house at 4:15 in the morning. Which technically since the time changed is really 3:15. Arggggghhhh….

Luckily enough I didn’t have to drive him all the way to the airport, which would’ve entailed dragging the children out of bed, etc. Not fun. I only had to drive him to the top of our road where he was picked up by a coworker who drove him to the airport.

Of course, I came home and was wide awake. So I read until six and finally fell asleep until the kids woke me up at eight. Which technically was really seven but you know what I mean.

Don’t you hate it when the time changes? I wish I lived in Arizona - they don’t do that crap. Oh wait, neither does Hawaii - I wished I lived in Hawaii. A few years ago I was there when Daylight Savings Time ended but it didn’t matter. How cool is that?

Sigh - yet another reason to add to my long list as to why I should live in Hawaii.

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

Hawaii would be good. But on the big island where there aren’t as many people.

Actually scratch Hawaii and I just want my own private beach island - then it could be whatever time I wanted it to be!

  2. Amie Stuart says:

I have to say Hawaii too, someplace with a beach, cute cabana boys and a nanny for hte kids LOL

  3. Anna J. Evans says:

Oh yes…I want to come too, to Hawaii. My hubby’s in the Air Force and I keep trying to convince him to transfer over there, lol. Sure we probably wouldn’t be able to afford a 2 bedroom apartment let alone a house but…it’s HAWAII!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I added you to my blog roll . I just moved blogs and am trying to beef up my links .

I think I would live in England or southern Ireland. Sigh. Either would be good.

  5. Tempest Knight says:

Well, since I live in Puerto Rico, we don’t have the daylight savings crap either. Heh! I live in a tropical island, why would I want to be anywhere else? *wg*

  6. Melissa Marsh says:

Anywhere…hmm…it’s a toss up between Italy and England. I’d have to go for England at this point, though, because despite being of Italian descent and still having relatives in Italy, I don’t speak the language.

  7. Amanda Brice says:

I’ve never been to Hawaii, but I think that would be nice.

I lived in Arizona, and I must say, not having Daylight Savings Time is WONDERFUL.

As for where I’d like to live, well, just about anywhere other than here would be good. I’m trying to buy a house and I pretty much cry everytime I see what houses would cost in other places compared to what they cost here. We could have a FREAKING mansion with what we’re paying for a 3-BR house.

I am sooo there with you on the time change crap! I’ve often said, especially since becoming a parent that Pres. Roosevelt obviously didn’t take care of the children or he NEVER would have insisted on such a stupid idea! But that’s just my HMO.

Where would I love to live? Oh man I have so many places I don’t know if I could narrow it down, but if it has mountains, that would be a start.

    Have a great week!
    Cole

    LOL…Hawaii is good for me!

  10. Loribelle Hunt says:

Port St. Joe, Florida. It’s a little beach town in the Big Bend area of the panhandle that’s a pita to get to and the tourists haven’t discovered yet. One day I’m moving there.

  11. Kelley says:

I wouldn’t mind living in Hawaii!! Can I come with you? LOL. I hate the times changes too. They always get me out of wack.

  12. Ericka Scott says:

England. Yeah, it’s cold and wet. . .but it’s green (and when you live here in the high desert, green is pretty hard to come by!)

Hawaii sounds nice too. Maybe have a summer house in England and a winter home in Hawaii. My muse likes cabana boys.

  13. Y says:

Hey Karen! The daylight savings thing sucks when you’re heading into winter and the days get shorter. :/ That’s where I’m headed in a few weeks.

Where would I like to live? I kinda love it where I am. Lol. Though sometimes I feel like I should be in the US!

  14. Jennifer McK says:

Yeah, I love where I live right now. Most places I’d like to visit but I wouldn’t want to live there.
The time change whether I’m springing forward or falling back, is ALWAYS brutal.
    Hope you catch up.

  15. Lori Borrill says:

Hmm, I’m actually living where I want to be (Sonoma County). I just wished my house was paid off so I could quit that day job, and I had a bigger yard. Maybe a view. Oh, and it would be nice if it snowed on occasion. But other than that……;-)

And on the time change, I hate this one, but in November when we get that extra hour, it’s kinda sweet.

  16. Samantha Lucas says:

People keep asking me this question lately. lol

If money were no object, I’d buy myself an island in the tropics and live on the beach.

In real world possibilities I think I’d like a townhouse in some historical city like New Orleans or Savannah. Somewhere where there’s a strong artist community. Lately people keep telling me I need to move to Asheville NC. Who knows. lol

  17. Robin L. Rotham says:

As much as I adore the ocean, I’ve GOT to live somewhere with well-defined seasons — winters with cold and snow, summers with heat and humidity, springs with violent storms, and autumns with falling leaves. The start of every season renews and invigorates me, and I’m always ready for the next one.

That being said, I think I’m probably where I belong right now, but I sure wouldn’t mind visiting you all in Hawaii when you move there.

  18. Isabella Snow says:

DST doesnt start till next Sunday here, thank God, cos I’m not ready for it!

And where I’d like to live: Iceland

  19. Sarah L. Catherine says:

Ooh, I’d like to live in Iceland, too!

But I was going to say Colorado. I was there again this week and think I could die happy seeing those incredible mountains everyday!! And then skiing, too. Aahhh.
We’d just have to keep a winter home in Hawaii for when we get sick of snow.
