My house is in chaos. There are toys everywhere. My children are spoiled rotten! I thought I had reined it in from last year but somehow they ended up with even more toys than usual. Of course grandparents and aunt and uncles add to the bounty…
Overall it was a great holiday but I’ll admit it - I’m glad it’s over. I love Christmas, don’t get me wrong. Sometimes, I’m very sad when it comes and goes. Kind of like a Christmas let down.
This year, I enjoyed myself but now it’s done. Let’s move on. There are things I need to do. Organize the house (all of this new stuff needs a place), I have two deadlines I need to meet (aaaahh!), and I need to help plan a wedding I’m going to be in - that’s going to be a month from today. In my hometown. Talk about short amount of time…I’m feelin’ for the bride, my best friend.
So yeah, I have a busy January coming up. I think my bro and his wife and baby are coming to visit too. And then February is birthday month for me and my baby girl. It’s endless. I need a break.
How was YOUR Christmas?

Melissa Marsh says:
Had a nice Christmas and like you, the house is a disaster. Unfortunately, I can’t do a thing about it right now. I’m working from home today since I’ve got four kids to look after - my two stepsons, my daughter, and the stepson’s friend from a different town who is staying with us for the rest of the week. So I’m downstairs clattering away on my computer while upstairs literally hangs over my head with lots and lots to do.
M. Green says:
Man, talk about nonstop. You most certainly do need a break.
If I decide to runaway to a tropical island (which I’m seriously considering by the way), I’ll drag you along. Just for a little while. I think getaway is the word of the year.
Robin L. Rotham says:
LOL! That snowman looks pissed!
I heaved a big sigh of relief when that last Christmas party was over. I’m ready for life to get back to normal-crazy instead of insane-crazy.
Beginning January 8, I’m cracking the whip on my local group’s 400 Pages In 100 Days challenge. Hopefully I’ll have two completed novel first drafts by mid-April — including my NaNo first draft. I was reading over what there is of it the other night for the first time and I was pretty happy with a lot of it.
After April, I’m going to need that tropical island. Can I have it when you two are done?
Julie S says:
Chaos. LOL. I guess I shouldn’t laugh since I’ve only got two or three more years of a calm and serene house during the holiday season!
January sounds like a nightmare. Good luck :-)
Shelli Stevens says:
My Christmas was all right. I’ve had better, lol. But, just a lot more stress this year I think
I so hear ya on the toys thing!
Brian G Ross says:
Christmas?
As always I ate too much food and got too many pairs of underwear.
:o)
Kelley says:
My house is the same way. My daughter was spoiled. I still have boxes from misc toys around. Its so hard to get things back in order after xmas.
Stacy Dawn says:
Yikes…you busy lady you! Glad you had a good Christmas though and all the best for the New Year!
Isabella Snow says:
Glad yours was good!
Did my first 24th celebration here and have to say it was fun. I discovered Ive the potential to become a wino.
That’s something, isn’t it??
Pam Skochinski says:
Chaos, sickness, and more chaos — I’m quite glad that Christmas is OVER!
As of later tonight (after the suitcases have been unpacked), I’m going to try to reread what I’ve been writing and try to get in my 500 words for the day.
Sigh. . .
