A Day Off…

8:57 pm • Filed under: Uncategorized

I love my little munchkins but my husband has been working for 11 days straight which means I’ve been working 11 days straight too. And I’m tired!!

I don’t know how women who are single parents with multiple children do it (I was a single mom of one for years and that was hard enough). It is WORK people! My husband leaves for work by 7:30 and usually doesn’t come home til after the kids are asleep so I sometimes feel like a single parent. Sigh…

Plus, I’ve been trying my hardest to keep those two in their beds (daughter has always had a problem, son was the perfect sleeper till a couple of months ago - I don’t know what happened). This morning they woke up at 5:30!!! OMG!!! And I went to bed at midnight, something I haven’t done in a long time. Needless to say, I’m exhausted.

Okay, I’m rambling, but I just wanted to say I’m glad hubby is getting a couple of days off so I can have a few breaks myself. I need to do a bunch of stuff (see last Friday’s post) and I swear I’m gonna get it done!!

I know what you mean. It’s hard enough as a pair but single mums… props to them - seriously.

LOL being a single parent really sucked! Hope you get everything done!

Glad you get a rest soon!

It is hard when your hubby works a lot. I’m glad he will have some time off so you can both get a break.

I didn’t find being a single mum of four hard–perhaps I’m mental–though I do see how someone else would find it difficult.

Have a nice rest, piddle arse about on the sofa with chocs and a book and chips and wine and and and…

    ;o)

I give props to all moms. I find being a plant mom hard! (I kill all my plants…I owuldn’t trust me around children.)

I can barely remember to feed myself!

There just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day, does there? It’s very hard to keep the kids on track, write, be a wife, AND manage to get the house work done. I’m glad to hear you are getting a much deserved break. Hopefully you can get plenty of rest and do everything you need (and want!) to do.

That would be massively hard! i don’t know how you do it with more than one kid!

I feel for you! My kids have all been early risers and I’ve just learned to adapt. 5am is the norm. No matter how late they go to bed. That only makes them cranky on top of everything else. My free time then is in the evenings after I get them all three to bed. I need that time and guard it religiously! Because my hubby is gone most weeks for work. I guess it just comes down to one learns to adapt. Or hook one self up to the coffee machine. *grin*

Boy do I know exactly what you mean. Hope you get some rest and some of your own stuff done.

Fortunately, my daughter likes to sleep late like me. It’s getting her to bed at night that’s the hard part! She also likes to stay up late (like me!) and it’s a struggle to find a bit of quiet just for myself at night.

Well, I can’t say about all this. I’m single. No kids. I have a job which sometimes requires me to work 12 hours daily. So I can bitch about my job and boss, but my house is my “fortress of solitude.”
