First, thanks everybody for all of the kind comments and well wishes yesterday. I appreciate them all! A shout out to my new author friends at Cobblestone. I’m so excited to be a part of this publisher!
So…I decided to use a pen name at Cobblestone. Karen Erickson (maiden name) it shall be. And so I’ve been thinking - should I change it overall? Just make myself Karen Erickson for good? Crap, I don’t know. I want to start a website, but karenerickson.com is already being used - by a realtor named Tami Timbeross!!??!! What the heck? Why is she using my name? Oh, I just read further - her mom’s name is Karen Erickson. Huh.
Anywhoo, I need a domain name, I need to write a blurb and various other stuff, I need to do a lot! I feel a little overwhelmed, but in a good way.
ps - If you have a myspace account, check me out. http://myspace.com/kdid210. Add me! I need to network more.

Stacy Dawn says:
What if you just add a middle ititial or add the word books or author to the end of your domain name?
Vivienne King says:
yeah, I agree with stacey’s idea. I was about to say much the same thing.
Sarah L. Castleberry says:
So exciting - don’t feel too overwhelmed!
April says:
I like your maiden name… Sucks about the domain name thingy though.
And just take one project at a time. It’ll be less overwhelming that way!
Karen Erickson says:
My hubby suggested the middle initial thing too….
Think I might do it.
Julie S says:
Or you can do “ErickXon.” LOL.
Sharon J says:
Karen, if you need a website, I’m happy to help you out.
Shelli Stevens says:
A lot of people do the books, or .net Or just slightly change the spelling of your name. I wanted to shellystevens.com, but that was taken. So I change the y to an i and bingo!
LOVE YA!

At the insistence of my dd I’ve recently created a myspace account. Not much on mine at the moment, but I’ve tried adding you…
Hmm on the name front, I thought about the middle initial too, or double barrelling your surname with your married name?
Michelle says:
I ended up choosing my maiden name as a pen name because like you, my married name belonged to a realtor. Who knew?
karen dindia says:
I’m all for using maiden names, especially in your case. I went back to mine a few years after my divorce and thought I was the only Karen Dindia around these parts. Finding you was a surprise. I hope your middle name isn’t Ann.

Karen Erickson says:
Look at that! Another Karen Dindia! That’s crazy, considering Dindia isn’t the most common name in the world……….
kdindia@comcast.net says:
You’re right about Dindia being a less than common name. Just curious…I assume it’s your husband’s family name. Do you know when his family came to America and from where? Some cousins and I are doing some research on the family and are planning a trip to Sicily to gather more information. We’re trying to find others who may have come from the same family line. Thanks.
